OGRES works for you and the local community ensuring your rights as residents of Sutton are looked after. Please support the Association by coming along to the AGM each year in July. This year the AGM was held on Monday the 18th July in the Woodcote Room at the back of Wallington public hall at 8.00pm.

We are always looking for new committee members and road representatives. The time commitment is not huge, current committee members spend approximately 15 hours per annum involved in OGRES activities. If you would like to join the committee please contact your road rep, or email us at admin@ogres.org.uk

Sutton and Carshalton Friends of the Earth needs you!

A new local environmental group was launchd in Carshalton in March. Sutton and Carshalton Friends of the Earth will campaign on issues ranging from renewable energy to the third runway at Heathrow. The group meet for the first time on 17th March at the Greyhound pub on Carshalton High St. Ted Burke, the group's founder, said: "We're looking for people who are concerned about these issues to come together and help make a difference. Friends of the Earth groups have been extremely powerful in persuading the Government to put a Climate Change Act through Parliament. Anyone who's interested in finding out more can contact Ted Burke at ted.burke@foe.co.uk.

Planning Matters

Part of OGRES remit is to monitor planning applications submitted to the council that affect our area.  In some cases these applications would have a detrimental affect on our community and ORGES work with the local residents to raise these issues with the council.

If you are aware of, or have any concerns, about planning applications affecting your neighbourhood, then please do not hesitate to contact the committee who would be happy to work with you.

Current planning applications:

Wallington Town Centre Development plan has been implemented, with the main shopping area refurbished, and the new health clinic opening in Spring 2012.
