| The Onslow Gardens Residents Association, OGRES is located in the London Borough of Sutton, has been serving residents in the Wallington area for over 20 years. Currently Sutton Council is currently conducting community engagement on the Issues and Options stage of the Core Planning Strategy, that will inform the preparation of the Core Strategy DPD, Proposals Map DPD and Site Development Policies DPD. These are being prepared as part of the Local Development Framework, that will replace the Unitary Development Plan over the next three years, setting out the Council's policies for the use and development of land over the next 10 to 15 years. |

OGRES works for you and the local community ensuring your rights as residents of Sutton are looked after. Please support the Association by providing feedback to the committee members or completing the contact us form on this site.
The OGRES AGM for 2011 was held on Monday the 18th July in the Woodcote Room at Wallington Public Hall, entrance from the car park at the rear of the building.
Our Guest speaker was our Local MP, Tom Brake who updated us on local developments and his activities and we received a written report from Sgt Peter LeShirley from the local Safer Neighbourhood Team. The minutes of the meeting are in our document archive with full details.
OGRES is made up of local residents who give up their time to try and keep the area interesting and special. The Association has a good relationship with the council and has representatives on the local Wallington Forum and the Wallington Beddington Area Forum. Members of the committee are also active in the local Neighbourhood Watch Association and the Policy Consultancy Group.
The area is designated an ‘Area of Special Local Character’ by the council, a distinction that OGRES is keen to maintain. These are older parts of the Borough which have a special local character, in terms of their townscape, architectural and landscape features, and which the Council considers should be conserved or improved.
We need interested people, willing to support the committee by becoming members of the committee, or road reps. The time commitment is not huge, but does include about six meetings per year. If you would like to join the committee please contact us here.
Browse our website for more information about OGRES. If you have any questions or would like to speak to an OGRES representative regarding the activities of the Association then please contact us.
At OGRES, we wish to preserve the local character of the area and maintain and improve the area in which we live.
Our local MP Tom Brake has some great information on his website at www.tombrake.co.uk among other items you can sign petitions to "Save our Back Gardens" "Save our Magistrates Court" and "To ensure we keep a critical care hospital at St Helier"
